Hyderabad: BRS MLA and former Minister Ch Malla Reddy rejected rumours on Thursday that he had defected to the ruling Congress. He reaffirmed that he will continue to serve in the BRS and intends to resign from politics following his current term as an MLA.

News outlets began reporting that Malla Reddy, his son Bhadra Reddy, and his son-in-law, Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, were planning to join the Congress.
However, Malla Reddy told the media that he met with Shiva Kumar about taking over a private institution in Bengaluru.
"I met him at a reception and a friend of mine facilitated the meeting for the university," he told me. His son-in-law, Marri Rajashekhar Reddy, also stated that he was unaware of the meeting and that he will continue to work for BRS.
